LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Nazir Chohan, who was arrested by police at the racetrack on the complaint of aid from Prime Minister Shahzad Akbar, courted his arrest at the police station on Sunday.
Accompanied by several supporters, Mr. Chohan appeared before the responsible investigation at the police station and demanded his arrest. However, the officer said he could not stop him because the police were supposed to inform the President of the Punjab Assembly before stopping an MPA.
However, sources claim that no state institution had previously delayed the arrests of opposition leaders, including Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz, failing to inform the president of the assembly.
Mr Chohan, one of the vocal members of the Jahangir Tareen group, told police that he also wanted to press charges against Mr Akbar. The responsible investigation said the complaint could be lodged at reception.
The prime minister’s adviser on accountability and home affairs Shahzad Akbar lodged the complaint after Mr Chohan allegedly hurt his feelings.
Speaking to reporters outside the racetrack police station, Chohan insisted his allegations were true and that he would present evidence. He even went on to say that Mr. Akbar had been assigned to senior FIA and police officers belonging to his religion. He said he would fight the action of the racetrack police to register a complaint against him.
The PTI MPA urged the prime minister to check with all agencies under his control and fire him, otherwise there could be a bloody revolution in the country. He said people belonging to a sect were being targeted in the country.
Mr Chohan said Imran Khan was his leader and had every right to raise questions before him about the wrongdoing in the country.
After Federal Ministers Fawad Chaudhry and Shirin Mazari, Assistant Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill also stood up to support Mr Akbar and tweeted that there was no wisdom in sticking to a bad one. point. He said that one should be ashamed of hurting someone’s feelings for no reason.
