On Ramakrishna Jayanti, take a look at some of his quotes which are essential life lessons

Ramakrishna Paramahansa Jayanti 2022

Ramakrishna Paramahansa was one of the greatest spiritual gurus and philosophers of pre-independent India. Born as Gadhadhar Chattopadhyay in 1836, Ramakrishna Paramhansa garnered tremendous support and admiration from those who sought spiritual enlightenment. And among them was Narendranath Dutta, world famous as Swami Vivekanandawho established the Ramakrishna Math with its headquarters at Belur Math in West Bengal.

The 19th century saint worshiped Goddess Kali at Dakshineshwar Temple on the banks of the Hooghly River near Kolkata. His wife, Sharada Devi, also served the goddess and inspired devotees to embrace spirituality.

Ramakrishna Paramhansa was born on Dwitiya Tithi Phalguna, Shukla Paksha (on the second day of the waxing moon phase of the month of Phalguna). And today, on the saint’s 186th birthday, take a look at some of his quotes that are essential life lessons.

Work, apart from devotion or love of God, is powerless and cannot stand alone.

You have to be very particular to tell the truth. Through truth, one can realize God.

When the divine vision is reached, all appear equal; and there remains no distinction between good and evil, or between high and low.

Many good words are found in holy books, but just reading them will not make one religious.

When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited.

The winds of grace are still blowing, but you must raise the sail.

Pray to God that your attachment to such transitory things as wealth, name, and creature comforts will diminish day by day.

When the divine vision is reached, all appear equal; and there remains no distinction between good and evil, or between high and low.

If one must be mad, would it not be for the things of the world. Be mad with the love of God.

The world is indeed a mixture of truth and imagination. Throw away the pretense and take the truth.

I wish everyone a very happy Ramakrishna Jayanti.
