Miyetti Allah calls for a sacrificial and tolerant life among Nigerians

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called on Nigerians to embrace a life of sacrifice and tolerance.

MACBAN Southeast Zone President Gidado Siddiki made the call in a message from Sallah to the Muslim Ummah, governments and people of the zone.

Eid-el-Kabir is celebrated annually by Muslims in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice of his only son to Allah.

Mr. Siddiki said such a sacrifice envisions and upholds the universality of the human family which is the basis of accommodation and tolerance among diverse peoples.

“We pray for peaceful co-existence among Nigerians and for improved peace and understanding between our herders and their host communities in the South East.

“We sincerely advocate for better understanding and better management of information to avoid half-truths and outright lies that can heat up society,” he said.

The President urged state governments, traditional and religious leaders and opinion leaders not to relent in their advocacy for peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.

“We advocate for fairness and restrictions in the management of information so as not to unfairly criminalize any group of people carrying out their legitimate activities in any part of the country.

“This is how we maintain that criminals, wherever identified, should be subject to the wrath of the laws of the land,” he said.

Mr Siddiki said the security of citizens was the government’s primary responsibility.

“We appreciate the governments and people of the area for allowing us to carry out our activities in the region and pray that the spirit of the season will prevail and continue to inform our lives and our attitudes towards each other. “said Mr. Siddiki.
