The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side have risen to the top of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) points standings after their second victory in three matches on Friday. KKR managed to comfortably pursue the Punjab Kings’ 138-run target by claiming a crushing six-wicket victory with over five overs to spare at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Two KKR players in particular, Umesh Yadav and Andre Russell, were the stars of the show. As Umesh demolished the PBKS stick with a four-wicket shot, Russell showed his alien finishing skills to go undefeated over 70 runs on just 31 balls. Watching this dominating performance from these star players, KKR posted a hilarious meme from the movie ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’ to congratulate Umesh for registering numbers of 4/23 in four overs, which also included a young girl.
The post was captioned “Kya khiladi hai Umesh” and had the likes of movie stars Raveena Tandon, Karishma Kapoor and Aamir Khan with a Hindi line from the film: “Ya Jhakaas, shabas mere cheetey, shabash”.

Umesh fired PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar to cap his top four wickets.
Umesh’s outstanding performance also helped him take the lead in the race for the Purple Cap. With eight dismissals already in the tournament, he tops the list of wicket takers.
Promoted
On the other hand, Russell’s brilliant shot also helped him get his hands on Cape Orange with 95 points in three matches.
KKR will next face Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 6 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
